IMPORTANT NOTE: YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO READ THE OSHA REGULATION
FILES OR MANY OF THE OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FILES
IN THIS ARCHIVE. THIS IS NORMAL. THE INCLUDED
EXECUTABLE CANNOT READ STANDARD ASCII TEXT BUT
WILL WORK NORMALLY WITH THE ENCLOSED FILES AS
THEY ARE.
Osha Regs Document File
-----------------------
1. Setup
2. Send in Registration
3. All about Osha Regs.
4. All Done
1. The installation and setup
Important follow this to the letter!
Warning do not edit any files except those mentioned in this document.
Osha Regs. Requires at least (9mb) of disk space!
We recommend at least a fast 386 and fast disk drive,
even though it will run on an 286 and below it will
be very slow because of your hardware. Its still faster
than reading each word in the regulations though.
My 486/33 will run a search in the general regulations
{the largest group} in 90 seconds.
SETUP CHANGES REQUIRED
Autoexec.bat This file must be changed to include
the following line. This sets the environment variable.
Mine looks like this! set osha= d:\ra\regs
Yours like this! set osha= [your path] no trailing
backslash
Make a directory for the files called regs [or your choice].
Copy the .exe files to this directory and un-arhive them by
typing the file name from the dos prompt. Example| Change
directory to the Regs directory and from the dos command line
type the name of each file. osha_a.exe will self extract.
Locate the file named osharegs.cfg
Copy this file [not move it] to a safe area in case you mess up
Using an ASCII text editor modify the file osharegs.cfg as
follows.
The existing file looks like this

This program is written for use as a door with the any
BBS system that uses the standard DORINFO1.DEF file.
Osha Regs determines whether to use the communications
port or not by the command line parameter you use when
you call it. If you supply a path to a directory where
it can find a standard DORINFO1.DEF file it will use the
information in that file to take control of the port.
If you do NOT supply a path on the command line it will
look in it's home directory for the OSHAREGS.CFG file
and operate in local mode.
When using as a BBS door on RemoteAccess, for example,
use a Type 7 menu selection and call a .BAT file which
sets the working directory to that used by REGS.
Mine looks like this| Yours like this|
cd\ra\regs cd\ [your path]
regs d:\ra regs [your path to ra]
cls cls
exit exit
Thats it. Its simple and it works. It monitors the carrier so
no need to use anything to monitor the door. If the user drops
carrier it auto resets. "You do not even need a fossil driver."
Sysops, if you carry this program as a door on your system
we recommend that a [Fee for Access] be charged. You make the
decision but you MUST REGISTER this software.

ABOUT OSHA REGS.
Osha Regs. was developed to its present format by Sam
McDaniel with communications routines written by Dave
Perry of Pass-the-Buck SoftWare.
Many of hundred's of programming hours have gone into it.
We think its the best software of its kind on the market
and is priced so any small company can afford quick access
to the regulations. { the latest fine by OSHA here in K.C.
Missouri Topped $1,000,000 dollars. Thats right One million.}
How Osha Regs Works. It searches the regulations for any
occurrence of any word you type in. It then display's the
Regulation section(s) that contained the common word. The
first occurrence of the word is always located on the top
line of the display. It has [next page] [previous page]
and [next record] features. If you want a hard copy just
use your print screen.
Since OSHA Regulations change Osha Regs has a built in feature
that warns you of expiration. The Program never Expires but
will not read the files past the expiration date. This insures
that you are not using out of date data. If you registered
your copy of Osha Regs. updates are available as described
under the registration chapter.
Because The OSHA REGULATIONS change from time to time we
"DO NOT" warranty this program to do anything except take
Hard Disk Space, Read Our Document Files, and Provide very
fast searching of our files. If you need any answers about
OSHA REGULATIONS contact your local OSHA office for final
interpretation of their regulations. We will not be
responsible for errors or omissions!
Your Finished!
Thanks for trying Osha Regs. Don't forget to register now!
